Description

The Pint of No Return is a luxurious cold-processed beer soap made with Yuengling Black and Tan beer.  It has the rich scent of fresh cherries, vanilla, and clove.  The scent notes of cherries, vanilla, and clove may be hard to imagine together, but the scent blend is really unique and wonderful.  The combination of sweet and spicy scents works really well together.

Not surprisingly, the name of the beer inspired the black and tan color swirl of this soap design. The result is a beautiful, subtle swirl design, made with a combination of mica powders and activated charcoal.

A NOTE ABOUT BEER SOAP:

When making cold processed soap, a liquid is needed as part of the base.  Typically, my soaps will use distilled water, aloe vera juice, or coconut milk.  In the making of beer soaps, the liquid portion of the soap base was replaced with beer.  The beer was boiled down to reduce the liquid, burn off the alcohol, and remove the carbonation.  The result is a lovely caramel beer reduction that creates a beautiful soap base.  The natural sugars in beer produce big, fluffy bubbles in the finished bars.  Using a beer soap is truly a wonderful experience, and this bar has a unique and addictive sweet and spicy scent!
